All Folk Welcome is a new twice-monthly folk choir led by Toby Hunt and Helena Day in Sevenoaks. All folk really are welcome at this choir, there is no audition or barrier to entry and you do not have to read music to participate. As is the old folk tradition, songs are predominantly learnt by ear.
The repertoire largely consists of traditional songs from the British Isles, often with a seasonal focus, as well as rounds and songs from across the globe. Helena and Toby are folk enthusiasts both local to the area and they aim to integrate local folklore and song tradition into sessions whenever possible.
Complete beginners and experienced vocalists alike, join us for a chance to develop your musical ear and harmony skills, open up to a rich heritage of folk song, and meet likeminded people in a fun and welcoming environment.

Helena Day
Helena is professional singer, songwriter, producer, and vocal coach.
She performs and records music as a solo performer; her work fuses traditional folk with other genres including jazz and soul. She also has a vocal harmony folk duo called Sylvid, and a jazz function trio featuring vocals, harp and double bass. Helena is a host of Folk of the Round Table, one of London's most popular traditional folk music sessions.
As a vocal coach, Helena works privately with students of all ages and abilities. She trained at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, where she received a first in Creative Musicianship.
